The
New Testament in an Hour!
This lively and
interesting lesson gives a visual, written, and spoken
opportunity to expose the student to the different sections
and individual books of the New Testament. Interesting memory
aids based on the floor plan of an imaginary house are used to
help students recall the names and order of books. By the end
of the class, the teacher will lead the students to recite the
books of the New Testament forwards and backwards as they
mentally walk through the floor plan of the imaginary house.
Look in the Book:
Students continue reading in John 12 and 13. Stories and
topics include: Jesus
is anointed, Jesus rides into
Jerusalem
on a donkey, Jesus shares the Passover meal with the disciples
for the first “Lord’s Supper,” and Jesus predicts
Peter’s denial of Jesus.
Discover it Daily:
Students are encouraged to teach “The New Testament House”
to someone. This can reinforce the order of the books of the
New Testament in their minds as well as interest others in
what the student is learning. Students will read about the
birth of Jesus, “The Sermon on the Mount”, the names of
the 12 disciples, and “The Parable of the Prodigal Son”.
